The psychotherapeutic approach offered in these seminars is embedded in the current developments of Gestalt therapy based on field theory and the theory of Self, anchored in the so-called “East Coast” Gestalt therapy at the end of the 20th century and is now branching out into areas such as Gestalt-oriented psychopathology or developmental somatic psychotherapy (DSP), the approach to working with body movement created by Ruella Frank.
The goal of these online seminars is to present an approach to therapeutic work and supervision based on these developments, from their roots to the most current concepts.
These seminars have the pedagogical format of didactic supervision, offering both theoretical explanations and work on the participants’ own experience. The goal is to connect practice with theory and theory with practice.
Groups will address issues that arise for participants in relation to their own work as therapists and their own cases. Depending on the needs of the group, we will work with different teaching methods:
Explanation of the main theoretical concepts and discussion.
Supervision of cases from the practice perspective with the help of the group.
Reading of articles.
Experiential therapy experiences in the group.
Demonstration sessions and analysis of the sessions.
An important goal is for the group itself to become a source of support for all its members.
To this end, we will work practically and experientially in a closed group of a maximum of 8 people, in addition to providing some theoretical explanations.
Some of the topics that might be of interest in these seminars are:
field theory and the relational approach,
shame in psychotherapy, the uncertainty of the therapist,
the concepts of supporting the process and microsteps,
psychopathology based on a field and relational approach,
aesthetic diagnosis and the concept of beauty in psychotherapy,
physicality and movement from the psychotherapeutic approach of Ruella Frank,
inclusive and exclusive aggressiveness, democratic and abusive relationships,
Gestalt therapy as situational therapy.

Seminars are held through Zoom.
Small groups of 6-8 participants.
The groups will work organically on the topics that arise from the active participation of the participants.
Sessions will be held via Zoom videoconferencing, which will be videotaped. They will be available privately for participants to review or listen to if they were unable to attend a session.
We have an online learning platform with private access where participants can find the reading material and a discussion forum to keep in touch between sessions.
The commitment to attend the seminars is proposed on a quarterly basis, for the four sessions that take place approximately once a month.
The seminars are reopened every four months to accommodate new members and fill vacancies. There is no fixed agenda for the seminars, but we adapt to the needs of the group, at the theoretical level, in supervision and in the group process.
My motivation for this proposal stems from the fact that the solid theoretical approach to human relationships that I have found in the theory of Gestalt therapy is a great support for my work as a psychotherapist, but also as a teacher and musician. As the famous phrase of Kurt Lewin, the psychologist who developed the theory of the social field, says: “There is nothing more practical than a good theory“.
My contribution to these seminars is based on my training and experience as a Gestalt therapist, psychologist and DSP therapist, my more than 20 years of experience as a college teacher, my active participation in the field of international Gestalt therapy (participation in congresses and collaboration in national and international associations) and my own elaboration of theory and practice and my publications in the field of Gestalt psychotherapy.
You can also see my profile on terapiados and my Gestaltnet profile, where you can see more publications for therapists.
If you are interested in participating, please send us through the form below your motivations, whether you are or have been a student or patient of one of the therapists of Terapiados, as well as any comments, questions or suggestions you may have. We will contact you through the phone number or email address you provide.
The start of the group depends on a sufficient number of registrations. The course fee will be refunded if the seminar does not take place. If the group starts and someone who has registered decides not to attend the seminar, the reservation fee will not be refunded.
