Regula Berger and Michael Widmer will offer a course in Valencia on posture, breathing and voice as taught by the body technique developed in Germany known as Terlusollogie and the Swedish Werbeck School of Uncovering The Voice of voice work. There will be an intensive workshop (15 hours) which is recommended for anyone interested in working with their voice, body position and breathing: singers, wind instrumentalists, actors, people using the voice in their work, and also people who wish to explore their own voice and breathing. No musical training is necessary.

What is Terlusollogie? 

Terlusollogie (German term that comes from terra (Earth), lunar (Moon), solar (Sun)) is a method developed by physiotherapists and masseurs in Germany. It is based on the idea that the body and respiratory pattern of individuals is established at the time of their birth, due to the influence of the Sun and the Moon. Therefore, it depends on the time of the solar year (summer, winter, etc.) and on the phase of the Moon.

Accordingly, there are two basic types of breathing, depending on what energy had more influence, solar or lunar. According Terlusollogie it is very important that each person recognizes his or her own natural type of breathing, since breathing and moving otherwise may have an important effect on the voice and overall health.

This workshop will present the basics of Terlusollogie with physical, breathing and vocal exercises that are adequate for lunar and solar types. The type that corresponds to each attendant according to his or her date of birth will be calculated and there will be an explanation about the differences between types.

What is the Werbeck School – Uncovering the Voice?

Uncovering the voice is a method for singing and voice therapy developed by Swedish singer Svärdström Valborg Werbeck, following the ideas of Rudolf Steiner and Anthroposophy. It approaches the voice and singing as something natural in humans and tries to recover the spontaneity and ease of natural speech. It has a holistic approach to singing as a way to express the essence of the person, not just as a technique or something reserved for a few.

In this workshop, the singer Regula Berger will propose vocal exercises and singing from the Werbeck Method.

Trainers

Regula Berger is a singer and voice therapist in Thun, Switzerland. She works in private practice attending all kinds of problems using the voice and sound as mediators. Her work focuses on combining the work with breathing types and the Werbeck School for singing, among others. She has been trained as a singer in Berlin with the German opera singer Brigitta Seidler-Winkler, author of Im Atemholen sind zweierlei Gnaden (“In breathing there are two types of blessing”).

Michael Widmer is a body therapist and works with the body posture and health aspects of Terlusollogie: physical rehabilitation, massage, etc.. He lives and works in Switzerland. He has been trained by Christian Hagena’s Tersullologie School and by opera singer Brigitta Seidler-Winkler. He has a degree in music teaching.

The workshop  will be held in English with Spanish translation.

Schedule:

Friday, February, 24th, 18 to 21 hours.
Saturday, February, 25th, 10-14 and 16-20 hours.
Sunday, February, 26th from 9:30 to 13:30.
